Yunus urges Bhutan for greater coop

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday encouraged Bhutan to take full advantage of the infrastructural facilities available in Bangladesh, citing ample opportunities to deepen bilateral collaboration between the two nations.

He made the remarks during a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh, Dasho Karma Hamu Dorjee, at the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dorjee conveyed the warm wishes of the Prime Minister of Bhutan to the Chief Adviser and expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s ongoing support, particularly in the fields of medical education and the proposed establishment of a Bhutanese Special Economic Zone in Bangladesh.

Acknowledging the historical friendship and strong diplomatic ties between the two countries, the Ambassador reaffirmed Bhutan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral engagement and cooperation.

Chief Adviser Yunus underscored the importance of fostering people-to-people connections, especially among the youth, to promote cultural exchange and strengthen mutual understanding.

He also reiterated Bangladesh’s dedication to upholding the spirit and goals of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Welcoming Ambassador Dorjee to Dhaka, Yunus assured her of Bangladesh’s full support and expressed confidence that bilateral relations would be further reinforced during her tenure. The meeting highlighted the growing partnership between the two South Asian neighbors and their shared vision for regional harmony and development.
