Propaganda by Indian media: Yunus-Soros meeting ‘fake and fabricated’

The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing has dismissed as false a recent report by the Indian weekly The Organiser regarding a meeting between Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Open Society Foundations President, Alex Soros.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the press wing rejected the report as an attempt to undermine Bangladesh’s Interim Government.
According to the statement, The Organiser has been involved in a broader campaign, led by Indian nationalist circles, aimed
at discrediting the current administration and facilitating the return of Sheikh Hasina’s government.
The press wing emphasised that such claims were baseless and designed to manipulate international perceptions of Bangladesh’s political landscape.
The article published by The Organiser alleged that the meeting between Prof. Yunus and Soros was intended as a challenge to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In response, the press wing asserted that the Interim Government had full confidence in President Trump and his administration’s ability to discern such propaganda and avoid allowing it to create unnecessary tensions between Bangladesh and the United States.
The statement further highlighted that both the U.S. Department of State and the American embassy in Dhaka were aware of Prof. Yunus’s engagements with a diverse range of individuals, including government officials, business leaders, and civil society figures-many of whom hold differing views on Bangladesh’s governance.
“We remain committed to strengthening our relationships with the United States and other allies while countering efforts to manipulate the international narrative through fabricated reports,” the press wing’s statement concluded.
