A day-long youth fair, pitha festival, and New Year’s celebration were held at Gafargaon Government College in Mymensingh with great enthusiasm.
The event was inaugurated on Wednesday at 10 AM with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the college campus.
Professor Kazi Faruk Ahmed, convener of the Gafargaon Upazila Youth Festival Celebration Committee and principal of the college, visited the pitha stalls and expressed his satisfaction.
Md. Akhtaruzzaman, secretary of the college’s teachers’ council, along with Md. Atikur Rahman, principal of Altaf Golandaz Degree College, attended the event as special guests. Various officials from the upazila administration, police officers, political leaders, media professionals, teachers, students, and people from all walks of life were also present.
A lively cultural program was organized on the college grounds as part of the pitha festival, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the campus. A total of 40 pitha stalls, set up by college students, showcased a variety of traditional delicacies.
