An expatriate youth named Anjan Kumar Saha (28) died after being hit by a train in Ishwardi. He died in the early hours of Sunday (April 28). The incident took place on the railway line near Ishwardi railway gate. The deceased Anjan Saha is the son of Anant Kumar Saha of Piyarakhali Jamtal of Paur area.
Locals said that Anjan had a falling out with his family members. Because of this, Anjan left the house at night. Later on Sunday morning Anjan’s body was found strangled on the railway line near the railway gate.
Neighbor Nilu Ranjan Sarkar said that he recently returned from Singapore. The incident is believed to be a suicide.
According to the police, Anjan had been in Singapore for several years. He returned home from Singapore five days ago. He was also physically ill. He was killed by the border express train early on Sunday morning.
Ishwardi Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman said, initially, Anjan Kumar Saha is believed to have committed suicide. His head was severed from his body. Preparations are underway to send the body to Pabna morgue for post-mortem.
