A youth allegedly committed suicide in Mohammadpur area in the capital on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahtab(22), son of Akter Hossain, resident of krishi market area in Muhammadpur.
Kamal krishno Saha, Sub-Inspector of Mohammadpur police station said, Mahtab hanged himself with a ceiling fan at his home in the morning.
The family members took him in a critical condition to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH). But he died on the way to hospital.
Police sent his body to DMCH morgue for an autopsy.
