The ‘World Tourism Day’ was celebrated across the country on Saturday,as elsewhere in the world, with a call for greater cooperation between the public and private sectors to seize the vast potential of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
The day with the theme : “Tourism, and Sustainable transformation “.The United Nations (UNs) world tourism organisation has recognised this day internationally since 1980.
Kishoreganj, District Administration including tourism related government and private bodies have arranged a colour full rally, discussion , drawing competition among the childrens, festivals events marking the day.
A discussion meeting held at local Callectorate conference room on Saturday, while Deputy Commissioner, also Joint Secretary of Kishoreganj, Fouzia Khan in the chair.
It was addressed among others by, ADC(General) MizabeRahmat, Additional SP MukitSarkar, ADC(Education &ICT) JesminAkhter and Sadar UNO Md. Kamrul.
DC Fouzia Khan said, tourism must be seen as more than an economic toll,stressing its role in spreading purity, safety, family happiness and a sense of togetherness.
Underscored the crucial role tourism plays in economic development, poverty alleviation, job creation and improving the country’s global image.
