World Teachers’ Day was observed in the country on Sunday through various programmes as elsewhere in the world.
This year, World Teachers’ Day was celebrated under the theme ‘Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,’ emphasising the transformative power of collaboration among teachers, within schools, and across education systems, reports BSS.
As part of the World Teachers’ Day celebrations, a reception was held on Sunday at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital to honour outstanding teachers.
A total of 12 teachers will be formally honoured at the event, selected from an initial shortlist of 36 candidates representing universities, colleges, secondary schools, madrasahs, technical, and primary educational institutions across the country.
According to the Ministry of Education’s guidelines for this year, World Teachers’ Day was observed at all educational institutions nationwide, including at the upazila, district and national levels.
