A discussion meeting was held organised by the Rangpur Divisional Family Planning Office in collaboration with the Janani Project on Monday marking World Population Day.
A discussion meeting and award distribution was held on the occasion of World Population Day organized by the Rangpur Divisional Family Planning Office in collaboration with the Janani Project.
The Janani Project is being implemented by KOICA with technical assistance from Save the Children Bangladesh and RDRS Bangladesh.
The main objective of this project is to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates and increase public awareness to prevent child marriage.
The chief guest of the discussion meeting was SDC, Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary), Rangpur Division, Rangpur Md. Shahidul Islam. Director Health, Rangpur Division, Rangpur Dr. Md. Wazed Ali. Director (Joint Secretary), Local Government, Rangpur Division, Rangpur Md. Abu Zafar, Deputy Commissioner Rangpur Mohammad Rabiul Faisal.
Director (Deputy Secretary), Divisional Social Services Office, Rangpur Division, Rangpur Mocha: Jilufa Sultana. The discussion meeting was presided over by Director, Family Planning, Rangpur Division, RangpurDewanMorshed Kamal.
Deputy Director, Family Planning, Rangpur Md. Saiful Islam, Assistant Director, Family Planning, Rangpur Md. ShihabUddin Sheikh, Project Director, Janani, Save the Children Dr. Ujjal Kumar Roy and Project Coordinator, Janani, RDRS Bangladesh Mohammad FarazdukBhuiyan were also present.
In his speech, the chief guest said that the youth should be listened to and a role should be played so that they can form a family based on their needs and aspirations. He also emphasized on the empowerment of youth and increasing their awareness.
