World Health Day observed in Kishoreganj

The World Health Day-2025 was observed on Monday in the country as elsewhere in the world with the theme – “Healthy beginning, Hopeful futures “.
Spotlight on women, and babies survival urging solidarity at critical moment for global health. In Kishoreganj, Civil Surgeon( CS) Office arranged a colour full rally, discussion, awareness campaign marking the day.
A discussion meeting held at local Civil Surgeon( CS) Office conference room on Monday. Sadar UHFPO dr. Nazmul Karim presided over the function.
It was addressed among others, Senior Medical Officer dr.Shamima Sultana, dr.Azizul Haque Tanzim of WHO, CAB district president, also Senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, dr.Pallab Roy, District Public Nurses Superintendent Nazmun Naher and Health Superintendent Ruhul Amin.
Sadar UHFPO dr.Nazmul karim said, “More action is needed to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate which remains as a major challenge.” “Concerted efforts are needed at all levels, both national and international, to overcome the challenge,” he added.
Senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito said that the Health and Family Welfare Ministry has been working tirelessly to improve maternal and child health.
“Various action programmes are being implemented by both the government and private sector.
Development partners are working with the government to improve maternal and child health,”
