World Autism Awareness Day observed in N’ganj

Narayanganj observed the 18th World Autism Awareness Day with various activities organized by the District Administration, including a rally, wheelchair distribution, and a discussion session.
On Tuesday (April 22), the rally started in front of the District Administration Office. After the rally, District Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah distributed wheelchairs among 11 individuals with autism. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the District Commissioner’s office.
During the discussion, District Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah said, Children with special needs are not a burden on society.
Many of them possess exceptional talents. If we stand by them and support their growth, they can contribute significantly to the progress of Bangladesh. Therefore, it is our duty to support them.
He further added, We understand how challenging it is for parents to raise children with special needs.
Only those who are living this reality can truly feel it. The Narayanganj District Administration stands by them.
He called upon the wealthy and capable members of society to come forward, saying, Children with disabilities are an integral part of our society. Let us all stand together with them and build a beautiful Bangladesh.
The event was presided over by District Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah. Other notable attendees included Additional District Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Alomgir Hossain, Deputy Director of District Social Services Department Asaduzzaman Sardar, Assistant Director Sulaiman Hossain, City Social Services Officer A.K.M. Saiful Islam, Officer of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Abdul Salam, and District Disability Affairs Officer Sohel Hossain, among others.
