Workshop on ‘RTI of Backward, Marginalised,Underprivileged Citizens’ today

A daylong workshop on ‘Right to Information (RTI) of Backward, Marginalized and Underprivileged Citizens’ will be held today in the conference room of the Information Commission Bangladesh in the city.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, MP, will inaugurate the workshop as the chief guest. Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr. Abdul Malek will preside over the workshop, said a press release.
The Information Commission Bangladesh and The Carter Center are jointly organizing the workshop. It’s urgent to do something and ensure a massive environment for the unprivileged community. Marginalized communities, peoples or populations are groups and communities that experience discrimination and exclusion (social, political and economic) because of unequal power relationships across economic, political, social and cultural dimensions (National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health. Marginalised communities in Bangladesh have less access to government services due to their backgrounds, with difficulties arising even when they file complaints of not receiving the required services.
