Workshop on CRVS system held in city

A workshop was held for journalists on the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system in Bangladesh. Nari Maitree, in collaboration with the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI), at the Biswa Sahitya Kendra on Sunday morning.

The main objective of the workshop was to increase media knowledge and strengthen advocacy to make the CRVS system more effective, inclusive and accessible, according to the organizers.

The workshop was inaugurated by Nari Maitree Program Director Khaled Bin Yusuf and GHAI Bangladesh Country Lead Muhammad Ruhul Quddus.

They emphasized the important role of the media, which is helpful in strengthening the CRVS system in the country.

The current status of the CRVS system in Bangladesh was discussed in detail in different sessions of the workshop.

Nari Maitree Project Manager Sifat Jahan presented a detailed analysis of the existing birth and death registration policies, implementation challenges and barriers.

Vital Strategies Country Coordinators Md. Nazrul Islam and Md. Moin Uddin gave presentations on CRVS policies and development strategies.

On the other hand, Moin Uddin discussed the need for death registration and the importance of investigating the cause of death.
