Working people returning to Port City, Eid mood remains in offices

Even though the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday is over, the mood of Eid has not diminished in Chattogram. Office-court proceedings have started as per the previous schedule after five consecutive days of vacation. From Monday, the officers and employees of all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions of the country are working from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
However, some private offices, privately owned factories are still closed. On the occasion of Eid, government officials and employees had a holiday from April 19. That holiday ended on Sunday (April 23). However, this time the office was open on April 20 before the Eid holiday after the holy Shaba al-Qadr holiday. Along with the Eid holiday, the government announced a one-day general holiday on April 20 by executive order. Working people leave the city and join their families in the villages to spend five consecutive days off with one extra day off.
Meanwhile, the streets of the city are still largely empty. Many people have returned to the city on Sunday as office activities have started.
Workers returning to the city were seen at railway stations, bus stations and waterways on Monday morning.
Almost all the bus counters including New Bridge, Bahaddarhat, Alankar, Hathajari Bus Station, GEC More, Dampara, Cinema Palace, Oxygen Mor, BRTC saw rush of passengers.
