The Women’s Affairs Reform Commission submitted its report to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday. Members of the commission handed over the report at the State Guest House Jamuna around 4:30 pm.

The interim administration established the commission on November 18, 2024, appointing Shirin Parveen Haque—founding member of the women’s rights organization Nari Pokkho—as its chair.

Formed as part of the second phase of state reforms following a shift in power, the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission was one of several bodies created to support Bangladesh’s democratic transition. Other commissions formed during this phase included the Media, Health Affairs, Labour, and Local Government Reform Commissions.

Originally, each commission was tasked with submitting its report within 90 days. However, the deadlines were later extended twice—first to March 31, and then to April 30.
