Woman trying to grab land using false information

Khulna Bureau :

A woman named Masuma Akhtar is trying to grab land by holding a press conference in Khulna city using false information. It has been alleged that she is desperate to seize other people’s land and houses by creating fake documents and deceiving them.

According to local sources, Suresh Chandra Das was the real owner of about 6.40 acres of land registered under BSRS 458 in Mathabhanga Mouza of Luanthora Police Station of Batiaghata Upazila. At the time of his death, his four sons-Dilip Kumar Das, Bijan Kumar Das, Arindam Kumar Das and Basak Kumar Das-became the owners of the property through the Hindu Patronage Act.

The heirs have been enjoying possession of the land by paying regular taxes and rent. Later, they appointed Mohammad Abu Shahadat as the public administrator in 2017 for business reasons. Abu Shahadat sold 8 kathas of land at plot no. 2551 to Poppy Akhter Sweety and Sabina Yasmin in 2018.

The buyers bought the land, registered the land regularly, paid taxes and fees and started living by building a pucca house. But recently, Masuma Akhter tried to occupy the house by hanging an illegal signboard with the help of local Jubo League leader Arifur Rahman and SI Mihir Mandal using fake documents. Even despite the permanent ban, a false occupation report was prepared with the help of SI Mihir Mandal.

It is alleged that Masuma Akhter applied to the District Commissioner to grab compensation money from the acquired land of the Khulna-Mongla railway line on the basis of that fake document. At the same time, she has again started trying to occupy Poppy Akhter Sweety’s house.
