UGC Digital Library (UDL) has been operational since July 2012. UDL is a sub-component of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). Thirty-eight universities including 31 public and 7 private universities have become members of UGC Digital Library.
About 98 percent users of public and 18 percent users of private universities enjoy accessing of UDL knowledge repository.
From July 1, 2012, UDL is offering access to around 3000 e-journals, magazines, conference proceedings, bulletins, etc. of three major online information resources: ACM Digital Library, Emerald, and JSTOR.
All member universities of UDL are accessing high-quality and scholarly electronic resources at substantially lower rates of subscription as UDL has been offering subsidy on the subscription fee from the HEQEP fund.
