Grazyna Baranowska, vice-chairperson of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID), led a delegation on a courtesy call to the chief of army staff at Army Headquarters on Monday.
Baranowska raised concerns regarding alleged incidents involving a few Bangladesh Army personnel previously deputed to various organizations such as RAB, the DGFI and the BGB.
In response, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman clarified that such personnel operate under the full command and administrative control of their respective organizations.
He reaffirmed that the Bangladesh Army remains firmly committed to upholding justice and human rights.
The army continues to extend full cooperation to national and international investigative mechanisms, he added.
