Promising pacer Tanzim Hasan said, ” We were unfortunate.
So, we could not win the match against South Africa.
The match between Bangladesh and South Africa was a low scoring game. We had to win the match. I think our batters batted well but their bowlers also bowled well.
It was a tough task for the batters to score runs in this wicket. Our batters tried hard but they could not chase the score of South Africa.”
Tanzim Hasan bowled really well.
The right-arm pacer grabbed three wickets in the space of 18 runs in his four overs.
The Tigers lost to the Proteas by four runs. It was a big blow for the cricket lovers of the country. Bangladesh sank just on the brink of victory.
Shakib said, ” We discussed about the bowling performance during our team meeting yesterday.
When a bowler get in favour of pitch, the bowler become excited. In that time, he try to do lot of things and his delivery have variations. As an example my weapon is outswinger, but when I see that I get that the wicket acts in favour of the bowlers, I also give delivery of inswingers. We decided that we shall do our basic things. We shall delivery our ball on the correct spot and the ball will do rest of the work.”
Tanzim Hasan wants to win rest of the two matches. ” Cricket is a ‘Team Game’. Sometimes the bowlers do well and the batters give the backup. Sometimes batters do well and the bowlers give the backup. At last it is a ‘Team Game’. We are trying to make combination among the bowlers and the batters. We have been playing well. We are confident. I hope we shall perform well rest of the two matches. We shall win rest of the two matches and will move into the next round.”
Bangladesh will play their next Group-D match against Netherlands on June 13. Bangladesh lost to Netherlands in the last ICC Cricket World Cup. But Tanzim does not think about the past. He said, ” It was only past. We lost to Netherlands in ODI match. But our next match against Netherlands will be held in a different format as we shall face them in a T20I match.”
” We are mentally strong. Unity of our team is excellent. If we retain our mental strength, no team will be factor for us. We can beat any team in T20I format.”
