Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Saturday said, “We want their trial under the law and tribunal under which they killed the glorious sons of the country.”
He said this while addressing as the chief guest in the Members (Rukon) Conference of Chapainawabganj district unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held at Hefzul Ulum Alia Madrasha field in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
Ameer of Chapainawabganj district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Maolana Abu Zar Gifari presided over the conference.
Among others, Jamaat’s central executive council member and Ameer of Dhaka City (South) Nurul Islam Bulbul, Central Executive Committee Member Principal Shahabuddin, Central Committee Members Md. Rafiqul Islam, Md. Nazrul Islam and Dr. Md. Keramat Ali, former law maker Professor Latifur Rahman, former Upazila Chairman Professor Mokhleshur Rahman, Municipality Ameer Hafej Maolana Golam Rabbani, Sadar Upazila Ameer Hafej Abdul Alim and others spoke in the conference.
Jammat’s Chapainawabganj District secretary Professor Abu Bakr conducted the conference.
Jamaat Ameer said, ” We don’t want to take revenge of what repression they made on our party but we want justice of the killings and kidnapping.”
If we get justice, our aspirations would be fulfilled, he added.
About the participation of Awami League in the next elections he mentioned that Awami League could not make any proof that they want election.
Awami League came to power three times but people could not exercise their voting power in any of the elections, he further added.
He asked Awami League to wait and correct themselves adding that Awami League became the lord of the country instead of serving the people.
“We do not want to see human lords of the country. Allah is the lord of the country and who will come to power will provide service to the people of the country,” Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said.
