Captain of Bangladesh ‘A’ Cricket team Nurul Hasan Sohan said, ” We want to play in the final of the Top End T20 Series.”
Sohan addressed a press briefing at the conference room of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Bangladesh ‘A’ Cricket team will leave the city today for Australia to take part in the Top End T20 Series. The Twenty20 Tournament will be held at Darwin in Australia.
A total of 11 teams will take part in the Top End T20 Series.
Bangladesh ‘A’ team, Pakistan ‘A’ team, Nepal Cricket team and four teams of Big Bash League will play in the group of Bangladesh ‘A’ team.
Nurul Hasan said, ” A lot of good teams will take part in the Top End T20 Series. The tournament will be a competitive cricket meet. We have a good chance to perform in this condition. We hope we shall play in the final.”
Sohan said, ” We shall continue our process to learn good cricket. But our main target will be to clinch the trophy. We have promising all-rounder Tofael Ahmed, who has a good chance to present a better brand of cricket.”
Nurul Hasan Sohan is a regular performer in all kind of domestic cricket competitions. He proved himself by performing well in the domestic cricket meets. But he was absent from Bangladesh National Cricket time for a lot of time. Recently he was called for Bangladesh preliminary squad, which will take part in the Asia Cup.
When asked him about his opportunity and rival for Bangladesh National Cricket team Nurul Hasan said, ” I don’t think anybody as my opponent. The cricketer , who perform well will get chance to play in the Bangladesh National Cricket team. If I get opportunity to play the final XI of Bangladesh team I shall try to give my best. I am now thinking about the performance of Australia.”
Bangladesh ‘A’ team will play against Pakistan ‘A’ team in their first match on August 14. Bangladesh ‘A’ team will take on Nepal in their second match on August 16. Bangladesh will face Perth Scorchers in their third match on August 17.
The second string of Bangladesh National Cricket team will meet Northern Territory Strikers in their fourth match on August 19. Bangladesh ‘A’ team will play against Melbourne Stars in their fifth match on August 21. Bangladesh ‘A’ will face Adelaide Strikers in their sixth match on August 23. It is noteworthy that Perth Scorchers, Northern Territory Strikers, Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers are taking part in the Big Bash League of Australia.
The semi-finals and final will be held on August 24.
