The authority of the world belongs only to Allah Almighty. At present, authority is in the hands of humans — and this cannot continue. As long as man-made ideologies remain active in the country, the law of the Almighty will not be established. In Bangladesh, human-made ideologies have been practiced: at times secularism, at times nationalism. These man-made doctrines have ruled Bangladesh for 54 years, yet they have failed to bring happiness to the people. He said this on Thursday (04 December) at the 8-party divisional assembly held at the Circuit House grounds in Mymensingh.
Presided over by Islami Andolon Bangladesh Presidium Member Professor Ashraf Ali Akhon
and conducted by Mymensingh District Jamaat Secretary Maulana Mozammel Haque Akand, the chief guest, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman, said: “The sufferings and hardships of the people have not decreased. For 54 long years the people of Bangladesh have lived in difficulty. We want to change the fate of the people of Bangladesh. From now on, the National Parliament, the Secretariat, and all educational institutions will be run only by the laws of Allah. No law that contradicts Islam will be allowed to operate here. Allah has given us two hands — will we use these hands to cast our vote for man-made laws or for Allah’s law? We pledge that as long as we live, we will live by the law of Allah, Insha’Allah. We, the 8 Islamic-leaning parties who want the welfare of the country and love the nation, have formed this alliance. The 8 parties stand firmly for the Islamic legal system.” Professor Mujibur Rahman further said, “Out of 180 million people in Bangladesh, about 90 percent are Muslims. We want to organize this 90 percent. These 8 parties will not remain just 8 parties — all parties in Bangladesh will eventually gather under the banner of Islam, Insha’Allah. We also call upon the BNP: come join us. You too believe in one God and accept the Qur’an. It pains us when you say you do not believe in Shariah law. This is not said by mistake; it is said knowingly — and that is why I believe your understanding is still not complete. What I want to say is this: we sought peace for 54 years, yet we have not found it. Islam means peace, and full obedience to Allah. When people obey the laws of Allah completely, only then will peace be established in the country.”
The divisional assembly was organized by the 8-party alliance demanding the implementation of their 5-point agenda, including creating a level playing field before elections, ensuring justice for those accused in the July massacre, and holding a referendum before the election.
