Local Government, Rural Development, Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said we want a Bangladesh of communal harmony, if anyone is involved in any treason-like incident in Bangladesh, no concession will be given to him.
We should not forget those who were injured and killed in the formation of this new Bangladesh. We must remember them. These families will be provided with financial assistance as well as employment.
We are working to eliminate the area-based discrimination in the country. During the fascist government, some districts including Gopalganj have developed. We will continue to work for the development of districts without discrimination with seriousness.
He said these things at a view-exchange meeting at Paotanahat College Ground in Chhaola Union of PirgachhaUpazila of Rangpur on Tuesday. Addressing the people of Rangpur, he said, “You have got a hero like Abu Sayeed in the mass uprising of 24. Because of him, the shortages of North Bengal will be filled.” Abu Sayeed’s representatives have given notes on various problems to ensure the development of North Bengal, he assured to convey the message to the higher levels and work on its implementation.
In response to a question, he further said, “No kind of interference, no kind of attack and no conspiracy against the state will be tolerated.” He said that we are taking alternative measures very quickly regarding the dissolution of the Union Parishad.
The event organized by the upazila administration also included the acting secretary of the local government department, Nazrul Islam, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Rabiul Faisal, Superintendent of Police Sharif Uddin, Pirgachha Upazila Executive Officer Nazmul Haque Sumon, journalist Sarkar Mazharul Mannan, Chhawla UP Chairman Nazir Hossain, Shamsur Rahman Sumon on behalf of the student coordinator, Shaheed Mamun Mia’s father Azgar Ali, Shaheed Manju Mia’s wife Rahima Begum, Shaheed Saiful’s wife Rani Begum, and others. Later, Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan distributed blankets among the people in the city and visited the ghatat Panial to lay the foundation stone of the multi-storey building of the Paotanahat SathiMajlis Public Library and to construct a bridge between Ulipur and Pirgachha over the Teesta River.
