Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan said, ” We shall present our best against Bhutan and also Singapore.”
Jamal Bhuyan and Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team spoke to the journalists at a jam-packed press conference, which was held at the conference room in the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Tuesday. Jamal said, ” The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian qualifiers match against Singapore is very important. The FIFA International friendly match against Bhutan is also important.
The Bangladesh captain said, ” After reaching Bangladesh, I took part many press conference. But I never saw such kind of plenty journalists in a press meet like today. I feel pain as the newsmen are sitting on the floor to cover the press conference e. That means there is a tempo in Bangladesh’s football. When I joined the Bangladesh Football team,
I was only footballer, who is an expatriate Bangladeshi footballer. After that, Tariq Kazi joined the Bangladesh team. I thought no other Bangladesh-origin footballer would join our squad. But now I see many Bangladesh-origin footballers are joining. France became world champions after collecting the France-origin footballers, who played in the different countries of the world.”
It may be mentioned that Hamza Choudhury, Fahamedul Islam and Shamit Shome will shine the Bangladesh squad. Hamza Choudhury has played in the English Premier League, Fahamedul Islam has played in Serie D of Italy and Shamit Shome has played in the Canadian Premier League. Shamit Shome is scheduled to arrive in the capital today. The FIFA International friendly match between Bangladesh and Bhutan will be held today at the National Stadium. The match will kick-off at 7.00pm. Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
The AFC Asian Cup qualifiers match between Bangladesh and Singapore will take place at the same venue on June 10. Bangladesh faced Bhutan in 16 matches. Of them, Bangladesh won 12 matches, while Bhutan recorded two victories and rest of the two matches ended in draws.
On the other hand, according to the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh took the 183rd position, while Bhutan took the 182nd spot. Besides, Singapore took the 161st position. But everything has changed as a good number of Bangladesh-origin booters joined the Bangladesh squad, specially Hamza Choudhury.
Bhutanese Head Coach Nakamura said, ” Bangladesh team are totally changed after getting Hamza Choudury. Hamza is an outstanding footballer.” Nakamura also took part in the press conference at the BFF House on the same day.
