Staff Reporter, Mymensingh :

We have passed through a long dark era of 17 years. Before the Prophet (PBUH) came to earth, there was polytheism, innovation, murder, rape, and human-to-human violence. This barbaric era, which was the source of endless bloodshed of humanity, is known in the pages of history as the Ayam-e-Jahiliyyat.
We have passed through a barbaric dark era for 17 years.
In an era when we had no voting rights. There was no democracy. There was no religious rights.
There was no rule of law. There was no economic rights.
We had no food, clothing, education, medical care, housing, the hungry people had no food, the cries of the naked people and the cries of the foodless and the clothes less people. He said these things at the workers’ meeting of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Muktagacha Upazila on Saturday (January 4). Under the chairmanship of Muktagacha Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Shamsul Haque and moderated by Secretary Mojahidul Islam, former MP and Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mia Golam Parwar said, Bangladesh was held hostage by one party authoritarianism, one person, one leader under the leadership of the Sheikh family and plunged into the darkness of ignorance.
If there were no people from the Sheikh family, there would be no security in business, trade, jobs, and livelihood.Today, for seventeen to eighteen years, our business, trade, our children’s jobs, politics, and economy have all been destroyed. That is why we say that we have also passed through an era of ignorance. We have passed through a dark era, he said. He further said, they came to power by talking about democracy but after coming to power, they forgot all about democracy.Three elections were held in 2014, 2018 and 2024. Fifteen years have passed and we could not vote. The authoritarian ruler of
Awami has spent the day voting at night, casting dummy votes.Voters left for the polling stations in the morning.Chhatra League, Jubo League, Awami League and Police League did not let the polling stations go by blocking cars on the road.
They said the voting is over, go home.If anyone went to the polling station by force, they killed or injured him.The presiding officer said the ballot paper is over, go home. The people of Bangladesh could not exercise their right to vote. Can this be called democracy? In this dark age, our right to vote has been killed in this way.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, Central Organizing Secretary and Mymensingh Regional Director Dr.Samiul Farooqui, former central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Hafez Rashedul Islam, Manjurul Islam, Ameer of Mymensingh District Jamaat Md. Abdul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer Principal Kamrul Hasan Milon, Secretary Maulana Mozammel Haque Akand, Co-Secretary Advocate Mahbubur Rashid Faraji, President of Bangladesh Agricultural University Branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Fakhrul Islam, President of Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir Shariful Islam Khalid spoke at the meeting. Present at the workers’ conference were Mymensingh Metropolitan Jamaat Secretary Professor Shahidullah Kaiser, Mymensingh Organizing Secretary Al Helal Talukder and various leaders of Muktagacha Upazila Jamaat.
