President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Faruque Ahmed said, ” We couldn’t do everything in four months. We couldn’t change everything in this time.”
BCB boss is satisfied with the result of Bangladesh Cricket team in the year of 2024. Bangladesh had a clean sweep against Pakistan as the Tigers clinched the Test series 2-0 against Pakistan in the home soil of Pakistan after 15 years.
But later, the Tigers conceded a 2-0 defeat to India in a two-match Test series and then they suffered a 3-0 loss to India in three-match T20I series.
Bangladesh leveled a 1-1 draw with West Indies in the two-match Test series in the home ground of Caribbeans. It was really an achievement. Then, they conceded a 3-0 defeat to West Indies in the ODI series at the Caribbean Island. Later, Bangladesh whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 in the T20I series. Besides, Bangladesh tasted defeat to South Africa in the Test series in the Tigers’ home soil.
Faruque Ahmed said to the newsmen on Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur.
Faruque said, ” If you watch the statistics, you will see that the achievement of Bangladesh Cricket team had mixed success. We won in Pakistan, Lost to India, drew with West Indies and lost to South Africa at home soil.”
Ahmed said, ” We do our activities to mark the good result. But if we want to get a good result, we have to go through a process. I have passed only four months. So, I could not achieve something magical in four months.”
When asked about the payment of the cricketers of BPL, Faruque Ahmed replied that according to the rule the participating cricketers of BPL will get 50% of their salary before the start of BPL and will get 25% during the BPL and 25% after the end of BPL.”
“I talked to the owners of the franchises of BPL as the BCB President and told them to follow the rule of payment. I hope the franchises will think that they are part of BCB and they will clear all the payments as they pay for Bangladesh’s cricket,” he added.
