The Election Commission has published the draft list of polling stations and voters ahead of the upcoming elections. The number of voters in the six constituencies of Sylhet has increased by 1 lakh 55 thousand 470. Of these, 70 thousand 72 are male and 59 thousand 961 are female.
In addition, the number of third gender voters has increased by 5 more. However, this time the number of polling stations has decreased. The number of polling stations in the draft list is 5 thousand 645. Earlier, in the 12th National Parliament election, the number of polling stations was 6 thousand 6.
Accordingly, the number of polling stations has decreased by 361. However, the number of polling stations remains the same at 1 thousand 13.
According to the draft polling stations and voter list published by the office of the Senior District Election Officer of Sylhet, there are currently a total of 28 lakh 70 thousand 801 voters in the six constituencies of Sylhet.
Of these, 14 lakh 62 thousand 477 are male voters and 13 lakh 82 thousand 887 are female voters. Moreover, there are 15 voters of the third gender.
Senior District Election Officer of Sylhet Mohammad Munjurul Alam said that anyone from the concerned constituency can raise objections or demands regarding the draft voter list until September 25. After that, a hearing will be held on it. After the hearing, the final voter list will be published in the last week of October.
