More than 90% of photos taken today are captured using smartphones, according to a recent study by UK-based photo printing giant Max Spielmann. In a world increasingly driven by visuals, smartphone photography has evolved beyond mere image capture — it has become a powerful form of storytelling without words. Marking National Camera Day, vivo Bangladesh is celebrating this modern visual language and the artists behind the lens.

vivo’s camera-centric V and X series smartphones have gained immense popularity among photography enthusiasts across Bangladesh. The brand’s innovations have empowered users to treat mobile photography as both a craft and a creative expression. To mark the occasion, vivo spotlighted two users whose stories reflect this transformation.

Fahim Hossain, a Dhaka-based content creator, considers photography more than just a profession — it’s his passion. “The vivo V50 5G has been a gamechanger for my work. Whether I’m capturing the bustling streets of Dhaka, the sunset in Cox’s Bazar, or the hills of Himchori, each photo tells its own story,” he said. “All the cameras in the phone use 50MP ZEISS lenses, which make every photo appear natural and incredibly sharp — almost like shooting with a DSLR.”

For Jahan Ara Mahi, an architect from Dhaka, the camera has become an everyday work tool. “With the vivo X200, I can effortlessly document project details and interior designs. The 50MP ZEISS telephoto lens and built-in stabilisation allow me to present professional-grade visuals to clients and on social media — something that used to require a dedicated camera,” she noted.

The vivo X200 features a ZEISS telephoto camera with a 50MP sensor and up to 20x zoom, offering remarkable depth in macro and portrait photography. Meanwhile, the vivo V50 5G stands out with its 50MP ZEISS main camera, supported by a super-sensitive sensor and multi-focal portrait technology. Thanks to CIPA 4.0 stabilisation, it delivers sharp, clear photos — even in low light.

Photography is far from a new fascination. While the idea of capturing images dates back centuries, the first photograph was taken in 1825, and in 1839, French scientist Joseph Nicéphore Niépce developed the first recognised photographic process. From those early experiments to today’s high-tech smartphones, cameras have come a long way — now fitting seamlessly in the palm of our hands.

On this National Camera Day, vivo extends its gratitude to all who tell stories through photos, capturing moments that resonate across the world. The brand reaffirms its commitment to making this journey even more accessible and powerful through innovation and user-focused design.
