The National Vitamin A+ Campaign was inaugurated on Saturday across the country, with a view to eradicating blindness and prevent the death of malnutrition-related children. In Kishoreganj , Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md.Abul kalam Azad was formally inaugurated the even as the chief guest, while Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Saiful Islam presided over.
Deputy Director (DD) of Kishoreganj 250 bed General Hospital Dr. Md. Akramullah, Assistant Director (AD) Shamsul Alam, Child specialist Dr. Sajol Shaha were also present as special guest
At least 5 21010 kids given fed Vitamin A capsules at 2915 centers in 13 Upazilas, 8 Municipalities of Kishoreganj. All children aged 6 to 11 months will be given blue-coloured capsules and the red- coloured ones will be given to the kids aged 12 to 59 months.
DC said that, vitamin A capsule helps is creasing the normal structure of child body. Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Saiful Islam said that Blindness problem has reduced significantly in the country due to feeding of vitamin A plus capsules.
