Veteran film actress Jahanara Bhuiyan passed away last evening after being ill for a long while.

She was 68. Her nephew, singer Niloy Ahmed, confirmed the news of her demise at a hospital in Minnesota, USA.

According to family sources, actress had been suffering from multiple health complications for years.

Due to diabetes, both her kidneys had failed. She had been under treatment at Lake Ridge Care Centre in Minnesota for the past 16 months.

Despite undergoing dialysis three times a week, she ultimately could not recover.
