Vegetable trader chopped to death in Habiganj

UNB, Habiganj :
A vegetable trader was chopped to death by his rivals over previous enmity at Nowaoi village in Bahubal upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Ramij Miah, 45, a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, police said there had a longstanding dispute between Ramij Miah and Fazal Miah of the village over ownership of a piece of land.
As a sequel to it, Fazal Miah and his men swooped on Ramij in the area and chopped him indiscriminately with sharp weapons when he was returning home from a local market in the same upazila at about 9:00 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
