A van driver named Tozammel Hossain (55) died after being hit by an auto-rickshaw in the Paikartoli area of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila.
The accident took place in Paikartoli area of Sadar Upazila around 3 pm on Saturday (July 19). The deceased, Tozammel Hossain, was a resident of Dogachi Khatta village and a van driver by profession.
According to police and local sources, when Tozammel reached Paikartoli area on his way home in the afternoon, an auto-rickshaw hit his van from behind. He fell and hit a nearby tree, killing him on the spot.
Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmul Quader said, “The police went to the spot after receiving the information about the incident. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.”
