The US is keeping an eye on Bangladesh’s overall situation, Congressional Bangladesh Caucus Chairman Joseph Crowley has said. Crowley said this at an event on the occasion of Saint Patrick’s Day at a restaurant of his constituency in Queens on Sunday. The US congressman hoped Bangladesh’s democracy would hold up on the basis of understanding among all political parties. He said Bangladesh would get back the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) status once it fulfils all conditions. Crowley said he would be glad to accept the offer to visit Bangladesh. Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee member and businessman Khorshed Khandaker, Muktijoddha Juba Command President, US chapter and Democratic Party organizer Zakaria Chowdhury and New York taxi cab drivers’ organisation leader Osman Chowdhury were present at the event. – bdnews24.com
