American Ambassador Peter D Haas visited PHP Ship Breaking and Recycling Yard to see the continuous progress of ship breaking industry development in Bangladesh.
On Tuesday (April 23), he visited Shitalpur in Sitakunda to inspect the yard. At this time, he expressed his satisfaction to see the positive massive changes in the ship breaking industry. Ambassador Peter Haas said that their support to the industry will continue.
When the ambassador arrived at the PHP Yard in the morning, he was welcomed by the Managing Director of the PHP Ship Breaking and Recycling Yard, Mohammad Zahirul Islam Rinku. The ambassador visited different parts of the yard for about an hour.
He expressed satisfaction with the various infrastructures installed inside the yard, especially the first aid station, safety measures taken to avoid accidents at the workplace of the workers
