People Injured in student-led mass uprising who are receiving treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) blocked the Shahbagh-Farmgate road demanding better medical care on Thursday at around 6:45pm.
The protesters claim they are not receiving proper medical treatment at the hospital, which is why they have taken to the streets.
One of the injured protesters said, “We fought for the independence of our country, yet we are not being given proper healthcare.”
As a result of the protest, traffic has been halted on one side of the road. Additional police forces have been deployed at the scene. As of the latest reports, one of the key coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, Sarjis Alam, has arrived at the location to manage the situation.
