Eid is a season of celebration, where families come together to share moments of joy and create lasting memories. However, for many children living on the streets, this happiness remains out of reach. In an effort to change that, the United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) organised “Eid for Street Children 2025,” aiming to bring festive cheer to those most in need.

This was more than just an event to distribute gifts – it was a heartfelt effort to bring the spirit of Eid to children who often miss out on the celebrations. Over hundred children joined the event, where they not only received new Eid clothes but also spent a colourful day filled with stories, creativity, and laughter.

To spread the joy of Eid among everyone, the children participated in various creative and fun activities – storytelling, henna application, drawing, and making Eid cards with their own hands, read a press release issued on Friday.

Some were immersed in bringing their imaginative world to life on paper with colours, while others were decorating their hands with henna designs. A few of them were sharing stories of their lives, their big and small dreams, feelings of what they have and haven’t received, and expressions of love.

This day was not just for the children; it was also a special experience for the volunteers. UNYSAB volunteers did not just finish their responsibility by giving gifts, they made the children’s day joyful with their time, love, and sincerity.

“Today we didn’t just give Eid clothes; we celebrated Eid with them. Their joy and excitement in their eyes – that’s our biggest gift,” said one volunteer.

The event was attended by UNYSAB members, alumni, volunteers, and special guests. The atmosphere was filled with joy, energy, and a strong sense of togetherness. This initiative was not just about one day – it carried a message: Eid is truly meaningful when shared with everyone.

“Eid for Street Children” is not just about giving clothes or gifts; it is about building connections, sharing love, and ensuring that no child feels left out of the celebration.

UNYSAB is committed to standing by underprivileged children in the future, making the colours of their dreams brighter.
