Khaleda Zia's Death: Universities classes, exams suspended

In order to show the utmost respect and dignity to former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the Vice Chancellors of various universities expressed their condolences on Tuesday, while also suspending classes, exams at various universities.

The administration has declared three (3) days of mourning at Dhaka University from Tuesday to Thursday.

At the same time, all classes and exams at Dhaka University have been suspended on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As part of the mourning, the flag of Dhaka University has been kept at half-mast.

The university’s next program will be formulated according to the state program.
This information was given in a press release sent by the university’s public relations office on Tuesday.

In addition, DUCSU, DU Treasurer, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) have expressed their condolences.

A press release sent by the university’s public relations office on Tuesday said that academic seminars and other programs will be held at Dhaka University on the theme of Begum Khaleda Zia’s colorful life and work.

From today, Tuesday, Quran recitations, prayers and prayers will be offered in all halls/hostels and mosques in residential areas of Dhaka University, including the central mosque of Masjidul Jamia, for the forgiveness of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul. Special prayer meetings will be organized at other religious places.

The release also said that the administration has arranged adequate special transport for teachers, students, officers and employees of Dhaka University to participate in the funeral prayer of Begum Khaleda Zia at Manik Mia Avenue after Zohar tomorrow.

In a press release on Tuesday afternoon, Chattogram University (CU) authorities decided to observe three days of mourning for the death of Begum Khaleda Zia.
It said that mourning will be observed at the university from December 31 to January 2.

A general holiday has been declared at the university on Wednesday. Academic and administrative activities will be closed on that day. There were no classes at the university on Tuesday as well.

The university authorities have announced the suspension of all administrative activities, departmental meetings and examinations on Tuesday in the wake of the death of Begum Khaleda Zia.

The vice-chancellors of Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Comilla University and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University have expressed their condolences over the death of Khaleda Zia.
