A client of United Group has alleged that the company has been harassing him for years and has failed to hand over land he purchased from them 14 years ago, despite having all the necessary documents. The victim claims that United Group’s directors have close ties with the Awami League, and they have repeatedly threatened him, saying that since the current government and ruling party leaders are supporting them, no one can act against the group.

He further stated that United Group has threatened him and his sons with kidnapping and murder if he does not give up his claim to the land.

“I purchased two separate plots of land in the Bhatara police station area from United Group in 2006, but they have yet to completely hand over a portion of the land, including completing the mutation. Additionally, they have illegally seized another piece of land from me,” said MMA Kader, the victim, during a press conference held at his land in Madani Avenue, Neptune City, on Saturday.

Kader mentioned that he had repeatedly requested United Group to officially hand over the land, but his requests were ignored. “United Group forcibly destroyed my structures, including tin-shed houses and cattle farms, in my absence. I then filed a case against this illegal land grabbing. At one point, the directors of the group threatened to kidnap and kill me and my sons,” he alleged.

MMA Kader urged Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and other concerned officials to intervene and compel United Group to hand over the land as per the agreement.

Kader stated that in 2006, he had purchased 66 decimals of land in Satarkul Mouja, specifically on plots numbered 41, 39, and 12. Additionally, he bought 33 decimals of land in Kathaldia Mouja on plot number 51. However, 10 decimals of the Satarkul Mouja land have not yet undergone the necessary mutation process.
This has caused significant distress for Kader, as RAJUK has repeatedly denied his requests for building plan approval, citing the incomplete mutation of the 10 decimals of land.

He further shared that in October 2020, United Group illegally seized his 33 decimals of land in Kathaldia Mouja’s plot 51, demolishing his structures, including tin-shed houses and his cattle farm. Despite this, Kader claims he has continued to pay taxes on the land for years.

According to Kader, United Group later offered to exchange the 33 decimal plot in Kathaldia Mouja for land in Satarkul Mouja, but they failed to follow through on this as well.

“Moreover, they threatened to kidnap and kill me and my sons. I eventually filed a General Diary with the police regarding these threats,” he said. Kader added that ongoing legal cases against the group have been stalled due to United Group’s influence and connections within the Awami League government.
