Conflicting complaints from directors, producers, and actors about the
promotion of dramas or movies are nothing new.
Actor Niloy Alamgir has raised questions about the promotion of a drama for Eid.
Niloy said on social media that a drama titled ‘Apon Por’ was released on the YouTube channel called ‘Deepto Natok’ without informing the director and the actors.
Before releasing the drama on YouTube, the director and actors promoted it by posting trailers and posters on Facebook.
However, after airing on Deepto TV on the third day of Eid, the drama ‘Apon Por’ was released on the ‘Deepto Natok’ YouTube channel on Saturday without any promotion.
After the drama aired on YouTube, director Hasib Hossain Rakhi and actor Niloy posted on social media that they knew nothing about the drama’s release.
Niloy Alamgir wrote on Facebook, “One of my dramas was released today (Saturday) on Deepto TV’s YouTube channel. But we don’t know any artiste about it in the release, nor does the director himself know. Maybe Mr Ali Bashir, the producer of this drama, knows.”
Promotion is an important aspect for any work to reach people.
Referring to that, Niloy wrote, “Since it’s being released on a digital platform, it definitely needs some promotion. But Deepto TV may not need that.”
The actor raised questions about this issue with the official of Deepto TV’s digital department.
Meanwhile, sharing Niloy Alamgir’s post, director Hasib Hossain Rakhi wrote, “Before uploading a drama, everybody should talk to the director and artistes of the drama.”
In the story of the drama ‘Apon Por’, Sohag, who lost her mother when she was a child, leaves her younger brother Rezaul with her grandmother after her parents die and moves to Malaysia.
After that, there was no further inquiry about his brother. From then on, Rezaul went out with various troubles. Suddenly, one day, Rezaul and his wife went to Malaysia to be with Sohag.
His wish was to spend a few days of his life with his older brother. After going there, various incidents began to happen around Rezaul and his wife.
Tania Brishty has played the role of Niloy Alamgir’s wife in the drama ‘Apon Por’. Also starring are Ashraful Alam Sohag, Hanif Palowan, Shormi and others.
