The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a seminar titled “From Classroom to Career: Preparing for the Future in the IT Industry” on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Held on the ULAB campus, the event brought together more than 90 students and faculty members from the department, who gathered to gain insights into transitioning from academic life to professional careers in the ever-evolving IT sector.
The keynote speaker at the seminar was Mr. Imtiaz Ilahi, Managing Director of GraphicPeople and SoftwarePeople—two renowned Danish-Bangladeshi joint venture IT firms. In his address, Mr. Ilahi highlighted the importance of soft skills such as teamwork and effective communication, along with active participation in extracurricular activities, as crucial components of career preparedness. He also encouraged students to stay updated with cutting-edge technologies to remain competitive in the job market.
At the end of the session, Professor Dr. Muhammad Golam Kibria, Acting Head of the CSE Department, presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Ilahi in recognition of his valuable contribution.
