UCB elects chairman, vice-chairman, EC chairman, audit committee chairman, risk management committee chairman

Distinguished business leader and visionary entrepreneur Mr. Sharif Zahir has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of United Commercial Bank PLC during the board meeting held on Thursday at the corporate office of UCB.
Additionally, young industrial entrepreneur Mr. Md. Tanvir Khan has been elected as the Executive Committee Chairman of the bank. Furthermore, Mr. Md. Shazzad Hossoin has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Bank, and Mr. Md. Yusuf Ali has been appointed as the Chairman of the Risk Management Committee. In addition, Mr. Obaidur Rahman FCA has been elected as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Bank.
Mr. Sharif Zahir, the newly elected Chairman of UCB, is a pioneer in fostering corporate governance in the business and industry sectors. He has been honoured with the prestigious Commercially Important Person (CIP) award.
Mr. Zahir holds a BSc degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Texas, Austin, US. Under his leadership, Ananta Group, with an impressive annual turnover of USD 400 million and employment for over 31,000 people, has positioned itself among the top diversified businesses.
