The Department of Business Administration (DBA) of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), in collaboration with the Club of Finance and Accounting (CFA), successfully organised a session of its prestigious Distinguished Lecture Series on Sunday, 27 April 2025, at the UAP Auditorium.
The event featured Dr. Selim Jahan, renowned economist and former Director of the Human Development Report Office at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as the keynote speaker. Dr. Jahan delivered an insightful lecture on “The Development Journey of Bangladesh: Achievements, Challenges, and Opportunities,” captivating the audience with his deep analysis and vision for the nation’s future.
In his keynote speech, Dr. Jahan stated that the deterioration of the law and order situation is negatively impacting social life. Despite significant progress in physical infrastructure, he noted that the country has yet to achieve the desired level of development.
Dr. Jahan also highlighted a major slowdown in the economy, warning that if economic stagnation continues, the achievements made so far could be undermined.
