Two tourists’ bodies recovered from Mirsarai waterfall in Ctg

The bodies of two missing tourists were recovered on Friday afternoon from Rupsi Jharna, a waterfall in Mirsarai upazila, of the district.
The deceased were Musfiqur Rahman,21, son of Atikur Rahman, hailed from Madaripur district, a first year student of East West University in Dhaka and Mahbubur Rahman Mustakim,21, late Md Murad, hailed from Laximpur district and also a 1st year student of Narayangonj University College.
A team from Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence retrieved the bodies at 1 pm on Friday after an extensive search operation, said Imam Hossain Patwari, station officer of Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Earlier, a team of 14 tourists went to see Rupsi Jharna located on the hill of Wahedpur Union of the upazila. At this time, two tourists drowned in the water and disappeared at 8 am on Friday.
A search and rescue team from the Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence retrieved the bodies around 1 PM, said Imam Hossain Patwari, the station officer. The tourists’ identities have yet to be confirmed.
According to eyewitnesses, the two individuals had been visiting the waterfall but tragically drowned, prompting a rescue operation by the fire service.
Imam stated that the diving team began their search at approximately 11 AM, after receiving the report of the missing tourists. The bodies were recovered two hours later.
