Two women died of snake bites at No. 3 Fatepur Union in Mirzapur, Tangail. They are Rulia Begum (40), wife of Farid Mia of Fatepur Purbpara village of Fatepur union number three and Rulia Begum (45), wife of Faruk Mia of Ghonapara village of Tholpara West of the same union. The death of two housewives due to snake bites has spread panic in the area.
OnThursday (May 16) Fatepur Union Parishad Chairman and Union Awami League President Md. Abdur Rauf Mia said that Arifa Begum alias Rulia, wife of Farid Mia of Fatepur Purbpara village, went to her yard to dry rice straw last Tuesday (May 14) when a poisonous snake twisted in the straw bit her. When he fell ill, his family members rescued him and admitted him to Tangail Sadar Hospital for treatment, where he died.
