Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in Nilphamari camp acting on secret information arrested two members of fake dollar syndicate from Tilai Joichondi village of Sonarai union under Sador Upazila on Sunday evening.
The spot is very close to Uttara EPZ, where many foreigners work in different industrial units and the syndicate is active targeting mainly the foreigners.
RAB-13 sources informed that the arrestees are Razzak (27), son of late Azizar Rahman of Horiballav village and Atiqul (28), son of Ismail of Baro Sangalshi village, both hailing from sador upazila. But the prime culprit named Alam managed to escape RAB’s net.
At that time, RAB recovered 227 pieces of fake 100-dollar note, 1208 pieces of fake 1-dollar note, 1 piece of fake 20 dollar and 50 dollar each from their possession.
RAB members also recovered 169 pieces of real dollar of different valuation from them ranging from 1 dollar to 50 dollar. Assistant Director (AD) of RAB-13 in Nilphamari camp, Jahangir Alam also an ASP of police arranged a press briefing at camp’s media center at 8.30 pm on Sunday.
