The two matches of NCL T20 were abandoned due to rain at the Sylhet Academy Ground on Thursday.
In the day’s first match, Rajshahi Division piled up a fighting total of 200 for the loss of four wickets in 15 overs against Sylhet Division before the persistent rain abandoned the play.
Meanwhile, the day’s second match between Dhaka Division and Dhaka Metro was abandoned before a delivery being bowled due to heavy rain.
Rajshahi had a formidable start as openers Habibur Rahman Sohan and Sabbir Hosan put on together 141 runs in the opening stand before Habibur Rahman Sohan was dismissed by pacer Ebadot Hossain.
Habibur Rahman Sohan hit a quick-fire 67. His 35-ball innings was ornamented with five sixes and five fours.
After Sohan’s dismissal, Sabbir Hosan could not stay at the crease for a long period as Sabbir Hosan was dismissed by pacer Khaled Ahmed when Rajshahi’s score was 156 for the loss of two wickets.
Sabbir Hosan hit a captain’s knock of 77. His 35-ball knock was decorated with seven sixes and four fours.
After Sabbir Hosan’s departure, Sabbir Rahman was trapped leg before wicket by Rejaur Rahman Raja when Rajshahi’s total was 170 for the loss of three wickets.
Sabbir Rahman scored 20 from eight balls featuring two sixes and one four.
Then, Pritom Kumar was run out by a joint-effort of Tofael Ahmed and Mazharul Haque when Rajshahi’s innings came to an end as the match was called off by the match referee.
Pritom Kumar made 22 using 11 deliveries including four fours.
SM Meherob Hasan remained unbeaten with eight runs.Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Rejaur Rahman Raja picked up one wicket each instead of 32, 36 and 43 runs respectively.
