A mother and her daughter were killed in a bus-CNG collision in Shahzadpur of Sirajganj district leaving five people seriously injured in the accident.
The accident took place on the Bogura-Nagarbari highway at a place called Madla in the upazila on Thursday morning.
A woman passenger of the CNG died on the spot. After rescuing the injured, a child died on the way to Shahzadpur Upazila Health Complex. Others injured people were sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment after primary treatment.
Eyewitnesses said that a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Pabna reached a place called Madla in Shahzadpur Upazila when it collided head-on with CNG.
A woman named Mitu Sutradhar (30) who was the passenger of CNG was killed on the spot and her child Ichhamoni (7) died on the way to hospital. The house of the deceased is in Jugibari village of Khukni union of the upazila.
A total of 5 people including the CNG driver were injured in this tragic road accident. The injured are CNG driver Taimul (25) son of Almahmud of Chechania village of Sathia upazila. The others are Aruna Sutradhar (60) of Kadai Badla village in Shahzadpur upazila, her son Sourav Sutradhar (17), Koli Sutradhar (16) and Katha Sutradhar (12) daughter of Vinay Sutradhar of Jugibari village in Khukni union.
In this regard, Hatikumrul Highway Police Station officer in -Charge Md. Monirul Islam said that a passenger bus of Dhaka-bound Shahjadpur Travels on the Bogra-Nagarbari highway had a head-on collision with CNG when it reached a place called Upjalo Madla.
A CNG passenger woman was killed on the spot. Later, a 7-year-old child died on the way to rescue the injured and take them to the Upazila Health Complex. 5 people including the CNG driver were injured in this incident.
