A two-day long International Education Fair has been officially inaugurated in Sylhet.
On Saturday afternoon Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. A. M. Sarwar Uddin Chowdhury inagurated this education fair at Amanullah Convention Center Sylhet organized by the Foreign Admission and Career Development Consultants Association of Bangladesh (FACAD-CAB) Sylhet Zone.
At the inaugural ceremony, SUST VC said that taking the opportunity of the education fair, many students of our country are currently pursuing higher education abroad. They mix with people of different ethnicities in pursuing higher education abroad and have various experiences and cultural exchanges. After returning home, students can use this experience to develop Bangladesh.
He said that such fairs make students interested in pursuing higher education abroad and make this process easier. They will be able to get admission in the desired institution by talking directly to representatives of various universities. He emphasized the importance of students acquiring knowledge in Computer Science and Technology along with English language, saying that Computer Science plays an important role in studying any subject in the present era.
He expressed hope that FACAD-CAB will continue to organize such education fairs and called on students to create opportunities for studying abroad at low cost by giving less importance to the issue of profit in higher education abroad.
The event was chaired by Ferdous Alam, President of Facade-CAB Sylhet Zone, and special guests included Ariful Haque Chowdhury, former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, Md. Joynal Abedin, District Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Sylhet, Maulana Khairul Hossain, President of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Habibur Rahman, Manager of Premier Bank Laldighirpar Branch, Monirul Haque, Member Secretary of Facade-CAB Central, AKM Nurul Bashar Bhuiyan (Sujon), Secretary of Facade-CAB Chittagong Zone, Anwar Naser, Central Manager of ETC TUFL & GRE Bangladesh, Sultan Ahmed, President of Celta, MA Hafiz, Senior Vice President of Facade-CAB Sylhet Zone, Abu Tayyab Dipu, Secretary, Syed Kamruzzaman.
Jointly hosted by Sports and Cultural Secretary Ashraf Hossain Patwari Johnny and Ishrat Jahan, the fair was attended by Sub Convener Nuruzzaman Moni, Executive Member Abdullah Al Noman, Sub Committee Convener Jasim Uddin, Joint Convener Palash Chakraborty, Office Secretaries Zahirul Islam Rubel and Zahirul Islam, among others.
The fair will be open to students, professionals and visitors from 10 am to 8 pm every day. During the fair, students and visitors will be able to learn about spot admission, career development abroad, scholarship benefits and visa application processes.
Representatives from more than 300 universities and colleges from Asia, Europe and America, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea, will be present at this year’s event. They will provide information to students about course selection, admission process, visa processing, scholarships.
Experts from more than 40 top education consultancy firms in the country will provide advice on fulfilling their higher education dreams at the fair. On-the-spot admission and free application processing will be a special attraction for participants. During the expo, students will be able to talk directly to university representatives and discuss their desired programs, tuition fees, and admission process. Personalized guidance will be available at special consultation booths, which will help students make the right decisions according to their respective educational goals.
