Two Bangladeshis killed by Indian Khasi people

Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed and another was seriously injured in a shooting incident allegedly involving Indian Khasi people near the Companiganj border in Sylhet.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, on the Indian side of the Nazirergaon Kawartuk 1253 Pillar, according to officials from the Kalairag border outpost of the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and its media wing.

The deceased have been identified as Ali Hussain, 30, son of the late Fozor Ali, and Kaushar Ahmad, 25, son of the late Sundar Ali, both residents of Kalairag Karbalatuk village.

Nabi Hussain, also from the same village, was injured in the incident.
Local police and residents reported that Ali Hussain, Kaushar Ahmad, and Nabi Hussain entered India on Sunday to collect fuel wood across the border.

At around 3 p.m., it was reported that Ali Hussain and Kaushar Ahmad were shot dead by Indian “Khasias.” Nabi Hussain returned seriously injured shortly after and was taken to a doctor by his family members.
