Dhaka is set to host Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister E. Beris Ekinci, who will arrive on Monday for a two-day official visit.
The key agenda of his trip is the fourth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between Bangladesh and Turkey, scheduled for October 7, marking the first such meeting in five years.
The talks will focus on strengthening bilateral ties, with special emphasis on trade, investment, and defense cooperation, according to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his stay in Dhaka, Deputy Foreign Minister Ekinci is expected to meet Bangladesh’s Chief Advisers Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, and advisers to the ministries of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Road Transport and Bridges, and Railways. Diplomatic sources also indicated that Ekinci may hold separate meetings with leaders of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) during his visit.
This round of consultations aims to advance the overall relationship between the two countries, with both sides expected to discuss regional issues alongside bilateral cooperation.
