A delegation from the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) met with the Administrator of the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Anwar Hossain to discuss potential areas of cooperation to achieve mutual trade benefits in the garment and textile sectors.
The TTF delegation was led by the organization’s President Justin Huang at the meeting held at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka recently, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed various trade-related issues including the current market situation of ready-made garments, global trends, challenges and opportunities.
The discussions focused on sharing knowledge and expertise in areas such as technology adaptation, skill development, innovation, resource efficiency and circularity in the textile and apparel industry through cooperation.
They also discussed how the both sides can work together to identify potential areas of trade and investment and to cooperate in seize opportunities in the textile and garment sector.
In the meeting, BGMEA Administrator Md. Anwar Hossain highlighted Bangladesh’s emphasis on increasing production of non-cotton and high-value garments.
He said that BGMEA is making all-out efforts to implement the vision of higher sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s garment industry by shifting from cotton products to non-cotton products, especially man-made fiber-based products.
